In a remarkable show of financial prowess, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign announced on Wednesday that it has raised a staggering $24 million in the final quarter of 2023. This figure represents more than double the amount raised in any other quarter last year, signaling a significant surge in support for Haley.
The campaign’s fundraising efforts have seen a steady increase throughout the year, with the third quarter bringing in around $11 million and the second quarter garnering $7.3 million. This upward trajectory coincides with a growing interest from donors seeking an alternative to former President Trump.
The recent fundraising success comes on the heels of Haley’s strong performance in the first four GOP primary debates, which has led to an influx of support from high-profile donors. Among those rallying behind Haley’s White House bid are Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, a notable Democratic donor.
In a significant endorsement, Haley also received the backing of Americans for Prosperity Action in November, a network associated with billionaire Charles Koch. The endorsement has undoubtedly boosted Haley’s campaign, which reported attracting more than 83,000 new donors in the fourth quarter alone. This figure nearly matches the total number of unique donors from all previous quarters combined.
Haley is the first major GOP presidential contender to release her fourth quarter numbers. All candidates are required to file their quarterly campaign finance reports with the Federal Election Commission by January 31.
First to report on Haley’s impressive fundraising totals was Fox News. Haley’s campaign team highlighted the strength of her grassroots fundraising operation, revealing that $16.25 million was raised through digital and mail grassroots efforts.
“This is a two-person race between Nikki Haley and Donald Trump. Nikki is the only Trump alternative with the voter support, the operation, and the resources to go the distance. Our momentum continues to build as we head into 2024,” said Betsy Ankney, Haley’s campaign manager.
Since launching her presidential run, Haley has raised a total of $50 million from 180,000 donors across her three campaign committees. With $14.5 million cash on hand going into 2024, the South Carolina Republican is well-positioned for the upcoming election year.
