Former President Donald Trump is set to host a high-profile fundraiser in Cincinnati on May 15, with Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as the event’s special guest, according to an invitation obtained by CNN. This event, which is being promoted as a lunch discussion, has sparked speculation about a potential political alliance between the two.

Those wishing to join the host committee are asked to contribute or raise a substantial $250,000. The invitation also requests a donation of $100,000 per couple or $50,000 per individual for attendance. The news of this fundraiser was initially reported by NBC News.

Vance, a potential candidate for Trump’s 2024 vice-presidential pick, has been a staunch supporter of the former president on Capitol Hill. He has previously received Trump’s endorsement during his Senate race. Recent reports from CNN suggest that Trump has shown a keen interest in Vance for his vice-presidential choice.

In a recent interview with “Fox News Sunday”, Vance stated that although he frequently communicates with Trump and they share a close relationship, they have never discussed the possibility of him serving as Trump’s running mate. “I assume that a lot of this is media speculation,” he said.

However, Vance did not dismiss the idea outright. He stated that if Trump were to propose such a proposition, he would “think seriously about it.” According to three sources who spoke to CNN, Trump has privately indicated that he plans to announce his vice-presidential pick in the early summer, ahead of the Republican convention.
