In a significant political move, George Conway, a prominent critic of former President Donald Trump and a respected conservative attorney, has made a substantial donation of $929,600 to the Biden Victory Fund. This donation represents the maximum legal amount that can be contributed.

Conway, who was previously married to Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s former campaign manager and senior counselor, is also set to be the main attraction at a fundraiser for President Joe Biden’s campaign. This event is scheduled to take place on April 24 in Washington, DC.

Conway’s Motivation

When questioned about his motivation for the donation, Conway expressed his concerns about the future of democracy in the United States. Speaking to CNN, he said, “This election is about nothing less than whether we’ll continue to live in a democracy under the rule of law. That’s priceless, so I consider my contribution to be a bargain.”

Organizers’ Perspective

Melissa Moss, a DC-based strategic consultant who organized the fundraiser alongside public affairs executive Susan Brophy, shared some insights about Conway’s involvement. According to Moss, she did not request any financial contribution from Conway when she invited him to headline the fundraiser. However, Conway expressed his commitment to the cause, stating, “I want to make a statement, I’m all in.”

The news of Conway’s involvement in the fundraiser was initially reported by Axios.
